Pastor Caleb Mathewson serves as the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church Madisonville, Tennessee. He approaches worship as more than music, viewing each song as an opportunity to proclaim the truth of the Gospel and direct the church toward the glory of God. Caleb carefully evaluates the theology and biblical faithfulness of the music 

Pastor Caleb Mathewson serves as the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church Madisonville, Tennessee. He approaches worship as more than music, viewing each song as an opportunity to proclaim the truth of the Gospel and direct the church toward the glory of God. Caleb carefully evaluates the theology and biblical faithfulness of the music he selects, believing that what the church sings should be grounded in Scripture, doctrinally sound, and centered on Christ. His passion is to help churches understand worship not simply as something we do, but as a faithful response to who God is and what He has done.

History is simply “His-story” and we all have a part to play in it in some fashion. Theology shapes not only how we view God, but also the world in which we live where “His-story” is unfolding.

 God has entrusted every faithful leader with knowledge, experience, and wisdom that should be passed on to others (2 Timothy 2:2). Christ Compass Academy is seeking experienced pastors, ministry leaders, missionaries, chaplains, and Christian professionals who share our commitment to the authority of Scripture and a passion for equipping the local church. Our instructors serve as volunteers, teaching from both God's Word and practical ministry experience to strengthen churches and develop faithful leaders around the world. If you sense God leading you to invest in the next generation of ministry leaders, we would be honored to begin that conversation.

Courses Christ Compass Fellows May Teach

Christ Compass Fellows may be approved to teach Christ Compass Academy courses in their areas of biblical knowledge, ministry experience and demonstrated competency. Fellows receive the approved course curriculum and instructional resources necessary to teach the course faithfully and consistently. 

Healthy churches do not happen by accident. God uses faithful leaders to build healthy churches. Faithful Leaders - Healthy Churches examines the biblical character, convictions, and responsibilities of Christian leaders and equips pastors, ministry leaders, and emerging leaders to lead with integrity, faithfully teach God's Word, serve God's people, and develop future leaders.

Pastors are called to prayer, teaching, discipleship, and equipping the saints, yet administrative and ministry demands can easily consume their time. Beyond the Pulpit equips pastors, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and key volunteers to develop a biblical model of shared leadership that identifies, develops, and empowers believers to serve according to their gifts and calling.

Effective ministry requires more than willingness to serve. Equipping Ministry Leaders equips paid and lay church leaders and volunteers with biblical principles and practical tools for leading faithfully, evaluating ministry effectiveness, establishing healthy priorities, and working effectively with volunteers.

Many Christians want to share their faith at work but struggle with how and when to do so appropriately. Ordained in the Workplace equips believers to view the workplace as a place of Christian witness, recognize opportunities for Gospel conversations, communicate their faith naturally and clearly, and demonstrate Christ through both their words and actions.

Sharing the Gospel across cultures requires more than good intentions. Intercultural Evangelism prepares those considering or planning short- or long-term mission service to understand how culture and worldview shape the way people understand spiritual truth. Participants learn to recognize four major worldviews, develop greater cultural intelligence, and communicate the Gospel with clarity, respect, and biblical faithfulness.

Worship ministry is more than music and performance. Worship in Spirit and Truth equips worship pastors, leaders, musicians, vocalists, and teams to lead Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship that glorifies God, strengthens the Church, and proclaims truth. Participants learn how theology shapes worship, how songs form disciples, and how worship teams can serve the mission of the local church with humility, excellence, and spiritual integrity.

Faith Journeys provide Christians with opportunities to deepen their faith by experiencing the places where biblical and church history unfolded. From the lands of Scripture and the ministry of Jesus to the early Church and the movements that shaped Christian history, each journey connects what we learn with the people, places, and events that have shaped our faith.
